Iran has repaired its air defenses damaged by the Israeli attack, the country’s Defah Press news agency reported on Sunday, citing Iranian military official Mahmoud Mousavi.

Iran and Israel were locked in a 12-day war in June, during which the Israeli air force dominated Iranian airspace, damaging Iranian air defenses. The Iranian military responded with missile and drone strikes.

Iranian military official Mahmoud Mousavi said, “Some of our air defense systems were damaged. This is not something to hide.”However, our colleagues have replaced them using domestic resources. These air defenses were placed in such a place that our skies are safe.”

Before the latest conflict with Israel, the Iranian military had the Russian-made S-300 air defense system.Tehran also used to use its own long-range Bavar-373 air defense systems. Defah News did not say whether Iran had imported new air defense systems after they were damaged.

Discussions on nuclear project

Meanwhile, Iran’s semi-official news agency Tasnim News reported today that Tehran may hold talks with the UK, France and Germany on its nuclear project next week.News of the new talks emerged after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with these three European countries and the European Union’s foreign policy chief, Kaza Kalas.

The United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia, China and the United States signed a deal with Iran in 2015 to limit its uranium enrichment. The United States later withdrew from the deal in 2018.After taking office as the new president of the United States, Donald Trump is seeking to make a deal with Iran again. There have been five rounds of meetings between the two countries on this issue. However, Tehran postponed the next round of talks after the Israeli attack last month, and talks have been stalled since then.
